Casino’s GGR surpassed Macau and Singapore

That’s why, in the quarter ended September 2022, the Philippines overtook Macau—Asia’s gambling paradise reeling from the lack of tourists—in gross gaming revenue (GGR). As travel resumed in the following quarter, Macau reclaimed its pole position.

Now, many gaming analysts believe that the archipelagic country is shaping up to become the region’s next great destination for games of chance.

The Philippines is poised to grow its annual GGR to US$10 billion by 2027, a significant climb from 2022’s US$3.8 billion and this year’s projected US$4.5 billion. Despite a slow recovery, Macau’s total GGR for 2022 was US$5.3 billion.
