IRCTC unveils new tourist train for Jyotirlinga pilgrimage tour

Indian Railways is set to embark on a journey of a lifetime with the launch of the Bharat Gaurav exclusive tourist train for the Jyotirlinga Yatra. The train, which is part of the Union Government’s Dekho Apna Desh initiative to boost domestic tourism, will take travellers on an 8-night, 9-day journey through some of India’s most lush and culturally rich destinations.

The journey will begin on February 4, 2023, and will take travellers to Veraval, Pune, Dwarka, Aurangabad, and Nashik, with boarding and deboarding options available in Udaipur, Jaipur, Chaderiya, Bhilwara, and Ajmer. The train will conclude its journey on February 12, 2023.

The train, which is classified as 3 AC class, will have a capacity of 600 seats, divided equally between superior and standard sections. The superior section will have 300 seats, while the standard section will have another 300 seats. Travellers will have to pay different prices depending on the category they choose to travel in. The superior category will have a ticket price of INR 31,500 (per person) for single occupancy, INR 24,230 for double or triple occupancy, and INR 21,810 for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years. The standard category, on the other hand, will have a ticket price of INR 27,810 for single occupancy, INR 21,390 for double or triple occupancy, and INR 19,260 for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years.

The Jyotirlinga Yatra is a spiritual and cultural journey that will take travellers to some of India’s most sacred and historically rich places. The train will make stops at the Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple in Veraval, the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Nashik, the Grisneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and Dwarkadish Temple in Dwarka, the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple in Pune, and the Grineshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and Ellora Caves in Aurangabad.
